I am a self-taught data scientist based in Ottawa. I specialize in data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization. I completed a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 2020. My research project was based on the production of light neutron-rich ions. This was a joint project between the University of Stellenbosch and iThemba Labs, which is the largest subatomic facility in the southern hemisphere. When doing my Ph.D., I performed data acquisition, analysis and interpretation using tools such as C++, python and Excel, which allowed me to acquire many skills in the field of data science and further sparked my interest in this discipline. Since then, I have had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the field by working closely with data scientists, attending training sessions and passing on my knowledge of programming languages.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my two children, setting up experiments and going on adventures in the woods. I find running and yoga both relaxing and revitalizing. I also find satisfaction in making my own outfit and crocheting some bonnets.
