About me
I'm a self-taught data scientist based in Almonte, Ontario, specializing in data analysis, machine learning, and data visualization. My journey into data science began during my Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, where I focused on the production of light neutron-rich ions. This research, conducted in collaboration with iThemba Labs, the largest subatomic facility in the southern hemisphere, honed my skills in data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation using tools like C++, Python, and Excel.
Since completing my Ph.D. in 2020, I've immersed myself in the field of data analytics, leveraging my expertise to work closely with data scientists, attend training sessions, and share my programming knowledge. I've also earned certifications, including the IBM Data Analyst Certificate and completing the 100 Days of Code with Dataquest program, further solidifying my skills and knowledge in the realm of data science.
Outside of work, I cherish time with my two children and indulge in adventurous escapades in the woods. I find solace and rejuvenation in activities like running, yoga, crafting my own outfits, and crocheting bonnets. Balancing my passion for data science with family and personal pursuits keeps me inspired and motivated.
